Being a finalist at the Online Marketing in Galway Awards for Best Blog and The People’s Choice Category has to be the highlight of my blogging career so far this year. The OMiG Awards are about showcasing and rewarding companies and individuals in Galway who are doing amazing work in their Online Marketing efforts. I was over the moon to be included amongst some of Galway’s finest Online Marketers and being recognised for my efforts feels amazing.
I started blogging in June 2013… why… because I’d been working in Banking for well over a decade and things were getting stale!!! I needed an outlet to express my creative side and the recession got me thinking…I longed for some positivity and it was time to start networking again.
I always had a love for fashion and beauty!!! Yummy Mummy Fashion & Lifestyle Blog has been the perfect platform for allowing me to share my passion for fashion and beauty. I cannot even explain how my blog has impacted my life….its been a source of joy and happiness and it has lead me to some of the most amazing and talented individuals I’ve ever met.
I love the fact that I can share my experiences and views with others and enjoy ever second of it. Even though it can be difficult to find the time to fit in family, work, housekeeping, and blogging I some how seem to do it. I think if you find something you love you will always make time for it in your schedule.
Shopping for the OMiG Awards really was a last minute thing. I really wanted something new. By now I know what style suits me and I know the shops that will cater for my taste. I always like to dress age appropriate and I like simple and classy. This is why I feel in love with this Darcy dress. It ticked all my boxes… scope neck, sleeves, knee length and I loved the colour combo and detail.
Conveniently located in the village of Moycullen I paid a visit to one my favourite boutiques Fusion Fashion. The lovely Fiona has a fabulous range of brands at affordable prices and thankfully my luck was in, the Darcy dress fitted perfectly at a price of €145.
The dress is simple and versatile, with detail on the neck, waistband and sleeves. This dress is perfect for a wedding with a headpiece or turn it into a suit for work by adding a black blazer. The gold heels are from Penney’s, I picked them up last Christmas and the gold clutch is from New Look.
