Week 1 in the sun….

2.5 hour journey on GoBus from Galway To Dublin…2.5 hour flight Dublin to Faro…and 40 minute car ride from Faro to Albufeira, we arrived safely at our new home for 2.5 weeks…HELLO SOLCOSTA.

We Love Holidays in The Algarve

For the past 10 years we have travelled to the Algarve for our summer holidays.  Each year we consider going somewhere different but nowhere can seem to come close to what Portugal has to offer.  We love pretty much everything about The Algarve.  The people, the food, the accommodation and there are so many things to explore and see.

Eat, Sunbathe, Eat & Drink Some More and Sleep

Week 1 in the sun has been very relaxing…Eat, sunbathe, eat & drink some more and sleep has been the order of the day.  We have been to a few of our favourite restaurants including Pizzeria Fratelli in Olhos d’Auga and Zu-Yi Chinese Restaurant at Vilamoura Marina.

Fun In The Sun

The kids have been enjoying the pool, beach and our day trip to Zoomarine has been the highlight so far. Next up is a trip to Aqua Show and a visit inside the grottoes and lunch on the beach and maybe a swim with the Dolphins if we are lucky.

We love holidays in the Algarve – Looking forward to lots more sun on the bones.

Happy Holidays xxx

  1. I love the Algarve – it’s so beautiful and the food is fantastic. Like you said, it’s a hop skip and a jump from Ireland! I haven’t brought my kids yet, I’m sure they’d love the Zoo marine too (we did when we went pre-kids). I’m looking forward to hearing about Week 2!!

    1. Hi Becky, Thanks for your lovely comment. Week two in Portugal is shaping up just as good if not better than Week One. We were in Aqua Show Family Park today. What a super way to spend the day. I think the adults had more fun that the kids on the water slides and rides to be truthful. Highly recommend you visit again with the kids xxx
