Sundial launched in June 2016 after more than one year of development and prototyping.  Sundial is a collection of light-powered watches with a contemporary style and a high level of fit and finish.  The collection has been carefully designed for maintenance-free use without compromise on appearance.

Since no battery change is required, no moveable back is needed – just the simplicity of a beautiful monocoque case, finely crafted from a single piece of domed steel and ideal for engraving which makes it a wonderful gift idea. Sundial delivers the perfect harmony of form and function, with a design that is pleasing to hold and perfect to wear.

As I said Sundial’s solar rechargeable movement has all the benefits of a modern quartz movement, without the need to change the batter.  Accurate to within 20 seconds per month, it features a six-month power reserve which is automatically replenished when the watch is exposed to light during wear.  Not having to replace the battery means that the watch case does not have to be opened.  This reduces the risk of dust and moisture entering the movement and prolongs the lifetime of the watch.

Each Sundial Watch comes in a beautiful Gold and White display box, the perfect place for your watch to recharge in the light. #CaptureTheLight

I was very excited to collaborate with Sundial and got to choose my favourite watch from the collection.  I have to admit it was a tough decision as I had my eye on a few different styles but in the end I decided on the A38BYW model (Price €225). With a striking seven-link solid steel bracelet and butterfly clasp, Sundial bracelet models feature a high grade of finish and polishing with a fitted end-piece. Smooth to the touch, the bracelets perfectly complement Sundial’s rounded monocoque case. Buy HERE.

While my solar powered Sundial watch looks after itself, I made time this weekend to recharge my own batteries and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon drinking tea and catching up on the latest edition of Galway Now in the peaceful surroundings of Galway Bay Hotel.
