Food & Fashion in the Sky at The Radisson Blu Galway
RAW Sushi in the Sky at the Radisson Blu Galway was transformed into Blogger Paradise for Galway Fashion Trail earlier this month. The restaurant’s location at the top of the hotel overlooking the surrounding scenery was a fabulous venue for the Blogger Breakfast sponsored by Radisson Blu Galway. What a perfect treat before taking to our feet for a fun filled day of fashion. A spread of mouth watering food awaited us including Mango, Passion Fruit & Ginger Smoothie, Greek Yoghurt, Strawberry & Vanilla Fool, Buttermilk Pancakes topped with chrispy bacon and maple butter (my favourite), Waterford Blas’s (Smashed avacodo, streaky bacon and poached egg) and Stuffed Portabello Mushroom. Now you see what I mean about mouth watering…it’s making you hungry?
As always Golden Egg Productions pulled out all the stop to make Galway Fashion Trail a day to remember, starting with a live fashion show featuring Harper, Sheneil Shoes, Jewelbox and Optique Opticians. Once again I was delighted to be invited as part of Into The West Blogger Network. We also got the opportunity to browse the stands, with beautiful displays of shoes, jewellery and glasses. I could resist the reversible GG belt from Jewelbox (Buy HERE). Oh and I have my eye on the Lodi Relix Pastel shoes from Sheneil Shoes (Take a closer look HERE). I also plan to visit the lovely Elaine O’Sullivan owner of Optique Opticians to pick up a pair of shade for my summer holidays.
Our Chariot Awaits…
The guys at Bradley Renault saved our heels with a fleet of cars lined up outside the Radisson Blu ready to take us into town. Thank you for the lift, it was very much appreciated.
Step Into The World of Hairdressing
Sarah Mason and her team at Sarah Mason Professional invited us into her salon for a tour. We were treated to a fabulous Sebastian Professional gift set which I’m looking forward to trying out. We also got to meet Freelance and MAC Makeup Artist Ailsing K Makeup.
Female Fashion at Swamp
A shop that I used to frequent in my youth surprised me beyond belief… Over the past 10 years I have always passed by it’s door as I though I was too old for their fashion. Well I was proven wrong. Joanna and the team at Swamp put on an excellent fashion show and yes I ended up making a purchase (I’ll share a photo with you as soon as I get a day out to wear it). This Irish owned, female fashion company with 9 stores nationwide & online is definite worth checking out. Here is some of the fashion modelled by the stunning Catwalk Modelling Agency ladies.

The lovely sisters Karena & Jennie from Juicy Lucy were also in store handing out they cold-pressed juices. These girls pride themselves on adding nothing but fresh, locally sourced fruit and vegetables to their range of cold- pressed juice. I really liked their sample of Juicy Lucy Clean Green Juice.
Women’s Clothing Store Colette Latchford
Located in Lydon Court, Bóthar Irwin, Eyre Street, – just opposite the side entrance to Debenhams – Colette Latchford offers an impressive line up of quality international labels in very inviting surroundings. Boasting a superb styling team who are always on hand to help and inspire whatever the occasion. The atmosphere is friendly, approachable and helpful. The shop is currently on fire with all this season’s brightest hues of Coral, Jade Green and Cobalt Blue. Occasion Wear, Day Wear and Casual Separates are all equally represented. Sizes 8 – 18 are stocked.
A Spot of Lunch at Revive Café
Revive Café, Eyre Street Galway has been one of the most popular Galway cafes since it opened it doors in 2001. Revive is owned and run by Mike and Mary O Reilly’s and is located close to Eyre Square, right in the heart of the city. This was the perfect place for us to take a break and refuel. An area was reserved for us on the outdoor patio, the perfect spot for lunch on a sunny day. There was no end to the flow of food as we were treated to samples off the entire menu (almost!!). The food was delicious and it was complimented beautifully by a glass of red wine.
Luxury At Brown Thomas
Personal Shopper Miriam O’Reilly opened the show at Brown Thomas. With front row seats and a prosecco reception we got to experience a fantastic fashion show featuring Haus of Mohawk, Victoria Becham, Karen Millen, Coast to name but a few. I was in my element and loved every second of this fashion show. Oh if only I had lots of money I would do some serious damage!!!
A Warm Welcome At Choice
Another boutique that I’ve only become familiar with recently is Choice Galway, located on High Street. Choice, your one-stop-shop for all occasions with the best of boutique shopping and great brands. Choice strives to create a relaxed shopping experience for customers with great personal service. When you shop at Choice you will feel confident about getting good quality and good value. Thank you for the warm welcome and for showcasing such a fantastic mix of occasional and casual wear at the fashion show.
With a beautiful, bright spacious store on Mainguard Street, Willow is home to the most amazing designer brands and accessories. I think the photos will speak for themselves….temptation everywhere. Have a sneak peak HERE at what I bought… arragh… I’m in LOVE.
Wrap Up Party At The Front Door
The Front Door located in the heart of The Latin Quarter was the hot spot for the wrap up party. After a busy day on Galway Fashion Trail a relax in The Front Door was more than welcomed. Our luck was in as it was Gin Fest Weekend in The Latin Quarters and the gin was flowing. As always the reception was second to none with an area reserved, cocktail demos (Thanks to Mark for the demo), gin tasting and platters of food served as we arrived.
A big thank you to Galway Now and all the sponsors of Galway Fashion Trail. We had a fantastic day and can’t wait for the next one. Catch up on Twitter using #GalwayFashionTrail – we were trending
