A girlie get away was badly needed. Work has been crazy busy, topped with juggling the kids in between, resulted in a bad dose of tonsillitis which knocked me for six for almost a week. I needed to recharge the batteries but didn’t want to be all day travelling so I was very tempted by the luxury of the 4 star The George Boutique Hotel Limerick. This popular hotel located on O’Connell Street is right in Limerick city centre, close to shopping, entertainment and the commercial district.
The drive from Galway City took just over 1.5 hours and with parking right next to the hotel it was door to door without zero hassle. I had already enjoyed a fabulous day in Limerick City when I attended Limerick Style Experience late last year so I was very excited for my overnight stay with my bestie Maura. The George Boutique Hotel did not disappoint, apart from its premier central located this luxury 4 star boasts an eclectic mix of contemporary style and comfort.
An instant feeling of happiness came over me as I made my way up the elevator to the spacious reception area that lead to a funky restaurant Da Vincenzo Food and Wine Hall. As we soon discovered we were spoilt for choice with so much to choose from on Da Vincenzo’s lunch menu. It was a no brainer with this fab food and wine hall under our roof…it was pizza for lunch. With a warm and friendly welcome from Vincenzo the Italian foodie behind Da Vincenzo Food and Wine Hall our toughest decision was picking a pizza.
As we waited for our goats cheese pizza topped with fresh buffalo mozzarella, red onions, figs and rocket with balsamic syrup, Vincenzo indulged us with a sample of his Italian bread served with olive oil. So yummy, the perfect ladies lunch. This cutting edge cosmopolitan boutique hotel style along with its professional and friendly service and luxury accommodation will definitely impress you, trust me.
Our suite was fabulous, we had lots of girly giggles as we sat back relaxing in the lounge area with a bottle of bubbly and treats before we powdered our noses and headed to House Limerick for some Gin and Tapa’s – another must when you come to stay in Limerick. Oh I almost forgot we had a sneaky glass of bubbly at the bar of Da Vincenzo’s too
The George Limerick has some super packages online including Starting Thinking Summer, A Date On The River Shannon, Date Night or Let Limerick Be Your Base. I’m very excited to return again with my flock of sisters. There maybe a few special occasions coming up before the year is out.. ahem…the BIG 40 in September (See you then The George)!!!!
